We're making a print magazine that is a bracing tonic against colourless content — and we need your help to do it.

Lost Art is a print and digital magazine founded in 2015 by Nina-Sophia Miralles. We are a pitcher of cold water on our tepid little world. We publish trustworthy stories written by clever humans. We host parties and profound cultural talks. Our independence is important to us — we don't kow-tow to anyone's agenda.

We're officially gearing up for our next print issue, and we're doing something we've never done before: crowdfunding. We think we're finally popular enough to try this, so please don't humiliate us by proving us wrong. Everyone can afford at least a tenner — that's basically a pint.

"Instead of joining various media feeding frenzies, we are concerned with disappearing traditions, articles of common sense, joyous indulgence, and other tangible and intangible lost arts."

— Nina-Sophia Miralles, Founder

This edition will cover two of the most important topics we all face: who we are, and how we can keep our spirits up. In an era of algorithmic noise, manufactured outrage, and attention-sapping content, we believe print is a radical act.

As ever, every article will be written by a clever human — no AI-generated copy, no sponsored content masquerading as editorial, no agenda except the pursuit of genuinely interesting stories.

I

Who We Are

Identity, culture, memory, and the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves.

II

How to Keep Our Spirits Up

Joy, resilience, community, and the lost art of genuine pleasure.

III

Disappearing Traditions

The crafts, habits, and ideas worth preserving before they vanish entirely.

IV

Common Sense & Mischief

Unfashionable opinions, joyous indulgence, and thinking for yourself.

Because a beautiful physical object is worth having. Because you will read it without being tracked, interrupted, or served an advert. Because 'people are constantly returning to what's handmade and hand-drawn — there's an almost religious shame about being online all the time, and that sells books.'

Our collectible print issues sell out. They are designed to be kept, lent, and argued over. This one will be no different — only more so, because our readers helped bring it into existence.

The funds from this campaign will go directly towards printing costs, commissioning writers and illustrators, and keeping us editorially independent. No investor pressure. No advertiser favours. Just the magazine we want to make.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my print issue?

We expect to dispatch physical copies in autumn 2026. Digital editions will be sent as soon as the campaign closes successfully and the magazine goes to press.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we ship worldwide. International postage is added at checkout. UK shipping is free on all reward tiers above £25.

What if the campaign doesn't reach its goal?

Kickstarter operates on an all-or-nothing model. If we don't reach £10,000, no money is collected and no charges are made. The campaign will simply not proceed.

What are the "back issues" in the higher tiers?

Lost Art has produced several beautifully designed print issues since 2015. Backers on the Enthusiast and Patron tiers can choose from available stock. Get in touch via our website to discuss specific issues.

Is the digital edition the same as the print edition?

The digital edition contains all the same content as the print issue, delivered as a high-resolution PDF. However, the print edition is the real object: designed to be held, kept, and returned to.

Can I contribute as a writer or illustrator?

We welcome submissions! Visit our submissions page for guidelines. Please note that backing the campaign does not guarantee editorial inclusion.
